Stillwater Line
4.5A rail journey across a drowned continent, told one carriage at a time. The finest sense of place in any game this year, carried by writing that trusts silence.
Reviews written after the long stay — four pillars, one rating, no hype.
We do not review a game the week it arrives. We move into it — at least 25 hours, often far more — and only then write about how it is built, how it plays, and whether it is still worth your evenings a month later.
No review is published before the reviewer has logged at least 25 hours. Long games get far more. The hours appear at the top of every review, so you know exactly what the score is based on.
Structure, Systems, Atmosphere and Staying Power are each scored out of ten. The star rating is derived from them, never the other way round, and every pillar is argued for in the text.
Every review closes with The Long Stay — an honest note on how the game reads once the opening spectacle has worn off. It is the part most outlets skip and the part readers tell us they use most.

4.0
A horror game set in one building over one night, built on architecture rather than jump scares. It understands that a floor plan can be frightening.
4.5
A hundred-hour RPG built around a city that rebuilds itself between acts. Slow to start, enormous once it opens, and unusually willing to remember what you did.
4.5
A hand-illustrated puzzle game about folding a paper city into new shapes. Small, precise, and smarter than almost anything at four times the price.

The studio has committed to four free content updates, with a plan-comparison tool listed first — the single most requested feature since launch.
The publisher will keep roughly sixty older titles running on current hardware, with minimal fixes rather than full remasters.
The charter sets out minimum expectations for remappable controls, subtitle presentation and colour-blind-safe interfaces.
Following Stillwater Line, the studio says its next game is in early production with a team roughly a third of the size.
A platform-level menu will expose frame limits, battery profiles and text scaling consistently across participating titles.
Most first cities in Terrace Nine die of a heat deficit around day forty. Here is a layout that does not, and the reasoning behind every part of it.
The first eight hours of Cinderfall are its worst, largely because the tools that make combat work are still locked. This approach smooths the ramp.
Supply throughput decides every game of Overgrowth Protocol and the interface buries it three menus deep. Here is how to keep track of it.
We cover what our seven-person team can play properly. That means fewer platforms than the big outlets and more hours in each game — and it means we say so when a genre is outside our range.
ArcologyGames has been running out of a single office on Jasper Avenue since 2019. There are 7 of us: a reviews desk, a news editor who will not run a single-source story, a guides lead who takes systems apart for a living, and an accessibility tester who checks every reviewed game on mid-range hardware.
We take no payment for coverage, we buy most of what we review, and when a publisher does supply a build we say so in the review itself.
New reviews, the pillar scores behind them, and a short note on what the desk is still playing. No sponsored placements, no daily blasts, and an unsubscribe link in every single edition.
